Friends and Family

The Friends and Family service allows subscribers to make groups of users. Calls amongst members of the group are charged with a special tariff, and members of the groups may be a mix of prepaid or postpaid.

Home Zone

The Home Zone service enables a mobile phone to mimic a wireline phone when subscribers are within their "home zone". The subscriber is assigned a wireline number. Calls can be received on either the mobile or wireline number. There are two main configurations for the service. In one configuration, incoming and outgoing calls are prohibited when the subscriber is outside the home zone. In the other configuration, incoming and outgoing calls are charged at different tariffs depending on whether the subscriber is inside or outside the home zone, or the dialled number is mobile or wireline. When a subscriber is outside of the home zone, calls coming in on the wireline number are redirected to the mobile number and an announcement is played warning the caller of the tariff change and giving the caller an opportunity to hang up.

Missed Call Advisor

The Missed Call Advisor service is applied when called parties are unavailable. When an unavailable party becomes available again, the MCA service sends a text message to the called party to advise him/her that he/she missed a call. Optionally, the MCA can be configured to advise the caller that the called party is available.

Free Divert

The Free Divert service provides efficient routing of calls to roamers that are diverted to voicemail, or even another mobile number. Normally, when someone calls a roaming subscriber and the call is diverted to voicemail, the voice circuits trombone out to the visited network and back to the home network to get the voicemail system. The roamers pay for the international legs, resulting in many discontented roamers disabling call diverts. The Free Divert service avoids the tromboning of the voice circuits, allowing the diverts to be charged at the normal home tariff and providing an interconnect cost reduction to the operator.
