Oracle Ibérica was founded back in 1986 as an Oracle Corp subsidiary for Spain and Portugal (created by Larry Ellison in the United States in 1977). Oracle aims at developing corporate software that eases, simplifies and automates the processes required to manage, share and protect information. With a revenue of 18 billion US dollars, the company offers its IT platform (databases, middleware, collaboration and development tools) and anterprise management applications (finance, clients, sales, human resources, providers) together with the corresponding consulting, training and support services, in more than 145 countries all around the world.
In the past 3 years, Oracle ha developed a merger and acquisition strategy that includes companies such as PeopleSoft, Siebel, Hyperion, among other, and up to date includes 42 companies that complement its product and services portfolio in all sectors.
The Iberian subsidiary had revenues of 260 million euros in the past fiscal year, with a 42% growth. In Spain, Oracle has offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Valencia and Bilbao. It has 900 employees, 7500 clients in different business sectors (public administration, telecommunications, banking and finance, industry and SMBs) and more than 500 partners. The Iberian subsidiary has been led by Félix del Barrio Cruz since June 2nd, 2008, who has been appointed as VP and General Manager replacing to Miguel Milano Aspe, current Oracle Senior VP of Middleware for Western Europe.
