The Atos Origin NGN Virtual Private Network (VPN) service provides advanced features for Enterprises that can be managed by the Enterprise itself using the self-care Web. The VPN supports fixed-mobile-IP convergence as well as prepaid-postpaid convergence.
The VPN provides rich funcionality for configuring numbering plans, groups, call restrictions, and can incorporate mobile, fixed, and IP extensions as well as extension from other operators.
Private Number Plan
The VPN facilitates flexible Private Number Plan (short codes) definition. A VPN can be divided into sub-groups. Each group can have different PNP's. Each PNP can define its own short code length and the rules for translating short codes to full numbers.
Up
Diverse Extensions
The VPN supports a diverse mix of extensions: such as mobile, fixed, PBX, SIP, and even extensions from other mobile or wireline operators.
Up
Preferential Charging
The VPN enables preferential charging for members of a VPN with distinct charging rates for inter-group or intra-group calls.
Up
Dialing Options
The VPN can be configured to present the Calling Line Id in different ways: always short code, always the full number, or corresponding to as dialled (that is, if the short code is used to call, the short code of the caller is presented).
Up
Restriction Management
The VPN has flexible restriction management capabilities. Restrictions can be set to prohibit incoming or outgoing calls in roaming or to/from international, wireline, other mobile, or off-VPN extensions. The restricted extensions be single numbers or ranges. The restrictions can be set depending on time-of-day and day-of-week.
Up
Favorite Numbers
The Favorite Numbers service allows a VPN subscriber to configure a list of non-VPN numbers to which calls can be made at a reduced tariff.
Up
Partner VPN
The Partner VPN service allows the association of VPN's of two different Enterprises so that they can both enjoy a reduced tariff for calls made between them.
Up
Route Home
The Route Home service allows roaming subscribers to continue to use short codes (such as VPN short codes, the voicemail number, the customer care number, etc.) which in are not dialable in the foreign country.
Up
Free Divert
The Free Divert service provides efficient routing of calls to roamers that are diverted to voicemail, or even another mobile number. Normally, when someone calls a roaming subscriber and the call is diverted to voicemail, the voice circuits trombone out to the visited network and back to the home network to get the voicemail system. The roamers pay for the international legs, resulting in many discontented roamers disabling call diverts. The Free Divert service avoids the tromboning of the voice circuits, allowing the diverts to be charged at the normal home tariff and providing an interconnect cost reduction to the operator.
Up
iVPN
The International VPN allows the use of the VPN across subscribers in different networks of the same global group. For example, Atos Origin can set up a VPN used by employees in several countries who have subscriptions with the national operators of a larger group.
